101TOKYO ANNOUNCES VENUE FOR 2009: AKIBA SQUARE

TOKYO, Japan / November 14, 2008

The 101TOKYO team is pleased to announce the venue for its 2009 fair, AKIBA_SQUARE in Akihabara's UDX building (http://www.akiba-square.jp/exhibitor/downlaods_03.html). Next year, the 101TOKYO Contemporary Art Fair will take place in AKIBA_SQUARE's spacious location in the heart of Tokyo's ''Electric Town'' district. The 1,010-sq. meter space is only a two-minute walk from Akihabara Station, and less than 10 minutes via Tokyo's elevated Yamanote Line from Yurakucho and Tokyo stations, where Art Fair Tokyo and other art-related events will occur.

"The venue for 2009 is quite different, and we're very excited," says Jason Jenkins, director of 101TOKYO 2009. "We love how open and scenic this space is. It will be interesting to see how it can be used by the galleries and our public programs. Besides, when we realized how easy it is to access, we knew this would be the place."

The fair will take place April 2-5, the same time as other lively art events happening throughout the city.
