101TOKYO ANNOUNCES 101DISCOVERIES ARTIST PROJECTS

The 101TOKYO Contemporary Art Fair is proud to announce the 101DISCOVERIES special artists projects. 101TOKYO's theme for 2009 is "New Art, Fresh Discoveries," and 101DISCOVERIES, a collection of art and performances selected for the event by 101TOKYO Creative Director Haruka Ito, will showcase new perspectives and new forms of expression.

''Yoko Ono said that if you draw a line across a canvas and write above it 'This is a horizon,' people will see something more than a mere line. Art is capable of producing new perspectives out of mere fragments, and simple artistic ideas such as this are still coming into existence today,'' said Ito. ''We hope that you, too, will make new discoveries at 101TOKYO, and that events like ours can become as much about creative discovery as they are about commerce.''
