101TOKYO ANNOUNCES 2009 PARTNERS

TOKYO, Japan / March 18, 2009

The 101TOKYO Contemporary Art Fair is pleased to announce its partners for 2009: The Yokohama Museum of Contemporary Art, ZINE'S MATE TOKYO 2009 (art-book fair by UTRECHT and PAPERBACK), and the International Festival for Arts and Media Yokohama 2009.

101TOKYO and the Yokohama Museum of Art will be selling combined tickets for both the solo exhibition of artist Teppei Kaneuji (March 20-May 27; www.yaf.or.jp/yma/jiu/2009/exhibition/kaneuji/) and to 101TOKYO at a discounted rate of 1,800 yen. In addition, catalogs for 101TOKYO will be sold at the museum in Yokohama.

101TOKYO will also be partnering with the new art-book fair, ZINE'S MATE TOKYO 2009, which is organized by PAPERBACK magazine and Aoyama's new Utrecht Gallery. ZINE'S MATE (www.zinesmate.org) will take place July 2009 at the gallery EYE of GYRE in Ometesando's GYRE building, and will feature artists and forward-thinking international and domestic publishers who practice book-making in progressive and distinctive ways. ZINE'S MATE will be promoting the new event at 101TOKYO by showcasing the kinds of books that will be presented during the book fair.

The International Festival for Arts and Media Yokohama 2009 (http://ifamy.jp/) will be partnering with 101TOKYO to promote their showcase of experimental film. Also known as CREAM (Creativity for Arts and Media), the event will take place in Yokohama at Shinko Pier Exhibition Hall and Bank Art NYK from Oct. 31st to November 29th, 2009. CREAM will show video works by Shimura Bros. (www.shimurabros.com) in the 101TOKYO lounge space.
