101TOKYO ANNOUNCES THE BERENGO PRIZE, PECHA KUCHA NIGHT AT 101TOKYO AND THE EST OUEST BUS SHUTTLE

TOKYO, Japan / March 31, 2009

On the eve of gallery booth construction, the 101TOKYO team is thrilled to make three special announcements.

The first is the Berengo Prize sponsored by Berengo Collection, an Italian/Japanese gallery specializing in contemporary art made with glass that encourages contemporary artists to use the medium for expression.The prize, which will be awarded to one artist showing at at 101TOKYO, will be a two-week residency at the Berengo glass studio in Venice, Italy.

We are also pleased to announce a special 101TOKYO edition of Pecha Kucha Nights, taking place inside the 101TOKYO venue at AKIBA_SQUARE on Thursday from 18:00-20:00. Respected architect and Pecha Kucha co-founder, Mark Dytham, will host the event which will exclusively feature artists and galleries. For those looking to hit as many of the art events as possible this coming weekend, Est-Ouest Auctions will be offering a free shuttle bus service between Art Fair Tokyo, 101TOKYO and the auction house's Gotanda showroom. Seats are limited, so it is recommended that you make a reservation at Est-Ouest Auctions' reception desk or the press corner at 101TOKYO. The schedule is as follows:

From Est Ouest (Gotanda) to Art Fair Tokyo (Yurakucho):
